Good afternoon, Eaton families! We hope everyone had a great first week of school and we’ve had a great day with all our kindergarteners joining us today.
1. We have parent night for prek, k, and 1st grade this evening from 5:30-7:00. We will start in the cafeteria at 5:30 and break for classrooms at 6:00.
2. Girls Scouts will be visiting tomorrow during the day, and their parent interest night will be next Thursday, August 21st at 6:00.
3. On Friday we will host our second safety drill for the month of August.
4. Our NEW digital marquee went live today. We are very excited about this and our ability to keep more reminders at your fingertips.
5. LAUNCH sign-ups are currently taking place. August 12th at 3:00 signups will close. http://tinyurl.com/EESFallLaunch25
6. Grandparents’ dinner flyers have also gone home for September 5th. Reservations must be made by August 21st. We will have dinner, photo booth, and the book fair.
7. Parent Tip: On registration day we sent home flyers about ParentPowered. The tips will be in text format with fun facts and activities on ways to help your child learn and grow. The text should start today from the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation.

Good afternoon, Eaton families! We welcomed half our students today in grades 1st – 4th grade. It was a great day!
Here are your Monday Minutes for the week of August 4th.
1. Tomorrow, we welcome students with the last name L-Z in 1st-4th grade.
2. On Thursday, 1/2 of the kindergarten students will be joining us. We will also have parent night for 2nd-4th grade that evening. We will be meeting together at 5:30 in the cafeteria for a Welcome/Title One meeting then we will break out into teacher classrooms around 6:00. If you have two students in different grades you can visit one classroom from 6-6:30 and then the other from 6:30-7:00 in grades 2nd-4th grade.
3. We will do our first practice fire drill on Friday.
4. Car Tags during dismissal are essential in making our process runs smoothly. We ask that you keep your car tag displayed in the window until your child is safe in the vehicle. If you didn’t have a car tag during registration day, please request one from your teacher. Starting Monday if you don’t have one displayed you will be asked to pull to the “U”, which is a parking lot located on the side of the building so we can check your license to verify you are able to pick up the student.
5. We do want to remind all car rider parents to not block Central United Methodist entrance as they have church activities and a prek program that needs to be able to access the church.
6. On Monday next week, all kindergartens start, and we will host a parent night for grades PreK-1st. We will follow the same schedule as this week’s parent night. Also, on Monday parents will not be able to walk their child to class and all students should be dropped off via a car or bus on the front sidewalk. Dropping off on the sidewalk helps keep our line moving smoothly.
7. Lastly, this is a parent tip regarding new passed state law, which requires school districts in Tennessee to notify parents and guardians if credible information about a threat of violence or significantly disruptive behavior directed toward, or occurring on, a public-school campus, and the district has reported that threat/disruption to a state or local law-enforcement agency and not just the SRO. To help us meet this requirement, you may receive a message via Thrillshare phone messaging app or email. Rest assured the district takes all potential threats seriously, as we always have, but now you will be more aware of these instances due to our increased communication. We take all potential threats very seriously. We ask our families to speak with their children and monitor their social media activity to make sure they understand what is and is not appropriate to say or share. If you or your child become aware of any potential threat posted to social media or anywhere else, please notify a school staff member or trusted adult right away. As always, thank you for your partnership as we work to ensure a safe, secure, and positive learning environment for our students.
